Role Overview:
The Legal Consultant will provide end-to-end legal support across corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters, ensuring compliance and effective risk management. The role includes contract drafting and negotiation, managing litigation and external counsel, overseeing corporate governance, and ensuring adherence to applicable laws, including data privacy regulations.
The individual will work closely with business teams to mitigate legal risks, support policy development, and enable compliant business operations while aligning legal strategies with organizational goals.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Legal Advisory — Provide counsel on corporate, civil, commercial and criminal legal matters; research relevant laws and recommend risk-mitigation strategies.
  • Contract Management — Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements, MSAs, NDAs, SaaS, vendor and employment contracts.
  • Litigation & Dispute Resolution — Manage civil and commercial litigation, coordinate with external counsel, and represent the company before judicial forums where required.
  • Compliance & Regulatory — Build and oversee compliance programs, track legislative changes, and ensure adherence across business functions.
  • Corporate Governance — Maintain corporate records, support board processes, and ensure statutory compliance.
  • Data Privacy & Security — Oversee compliance with the DPDP Act, GDPR and other applicable data protection regimes; maintain breach response protocols.
  • Risk Management — Identify potential legal exposure and design mitigation policies.
  • Criminal Law Matters — Handle white-collar matters, fraud and regulatory investigations as they arise.
  • Policy & Training — Contribute to internal policy development and conduct legal awareness sessions for business teams.
Qualification:
    • LL.B. / LL.M. from a recognised institution
    • Enrolled with the State Bar Association

Experience Required:
    • 3–6 years of post-qualification experience as a corporate / in-house lawyer

Technical Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, civil, and criminal laws
  • Expertise in contract drafting and negotiation (MSA, NDA, SaaS, vendor, employment agreements)
  • Experience in compliance management and corporate governance
  • Familiarity with data privacy laws (DPDP Act, GDPR)
  • Hands-on experience in litigation management and coordination with external counsel
  • Ability to identify legal risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Experience in policy drafting and conducting legal training sessions

Preferred Certification (if any):
  • Certification in Data Privacy / Data Protection
  • Certification in Corporate Law / Compliance Management
  • Contract Management or Commercial Law certification
